Mushrooms in the Luga region
Description of mushrooms of the Luga region
In the Luga region, mushroom sites have remained constant for many years. The forest mushrooms growing in them are divided into 4 flavoring categories:
- with a strong characteristic odor: some types of whites, all types of milk mushrooms, fawn and mushrooms;
- with a less strong odor, but a delicate taste: boletus, boletus, polish and all types of mushrooms;
- with a weak aroma and average taste characteristics: honey mushrooms, mushrooms, morels;
- with a bitter aftertaste - all conditionally edible mushrooms.
The first two flavor categories are most commonly used in cooking.
Sauces are prepared from group 3, ground into a homogeneous mass for pates, and used in appetizers for aperitifs.
Delicious pickles are obtained from the 4th group. It does not have a bright aroma and therefore pepper, bay leaves, cloves and other ingredients are added to them. As a result, pickled or salted mushrooms turn out to be unique.

Talkers and gray floats are rare in these places. But pale toadstools come across often, they can be confused with russula or honeydew.
Irina Selyutina (Biologist):
When collecting mushrooms, you can accidentally send poisonous mushrooms to the basket in the hobby of "quiet hunting". To prevent this from happening, do not forget:
- False chanterelles are usually larger, have a poisonous orange color and secrete white juice on the cut (cut);
- The gall fungus, in contrast to the white one, has a dark mesh on the surface of the leg;
- The satanic mushroom has a grayish velvety cap and an extremely thick leg of a bright reddish color, plus the flesh at the fracture turns red.
You should not touch everything in the forest with your hands, step with bare feet, tear and put in a basket. A poisonous pale toadstool can poison all the mushrooms that touch it in the basket. Its toxins are quick and powerful. At the first signs of poisoning, an urgent need to consult a doctor.
